About Us
This charming Bistro,“where everybody knows your name”, is a popular destination for locals, weekenders and visitors to the Litchfield Hills. For parties of 6 or more, it's a good idea to call ahead for a reservation, especially April through October weekends when Bistro's two terraces are open.

The owners are authors mom, Jacqui Heriteau and daughter, Holly Hunter Stonehill. The food weds an appetite for what's different inspired by Holly's years in the Caribbean and the cuisine of late, great, French Chef Papa/Grandpere Marcel Heriteau. Bistro soups are famous--and we serve gluten-free salads, casseroles and bakery items..
Holly and Jacqui opened the Bistro in 2007. Jacqui's the widow of Lakeville artist Earl Hubbard. The Hubbard paintings displayed (and for sale) were chosen by Interior Designer Christine Lambert Layton of Lakeville and New York, whose genius transformed an awkward space -- and created Bistro's Fresh Lemon Tarragon Dressing (also for sale).
Bistro's theme: fresh, wholesome food prepared from scratch here and exciting, sometimes far-out culinary ideas make for happy cooks and great eating.
